A Message from Jeff (May)

To This Great Community,
The Corona era Phase 2 will begin in our dear state today at 5:00pm and I have questions to ask you. If the pandemic were a baseball game would we be in the 2nd inning, or the 7th inning stretch? Is our community, our country winning or losing this game? I imagine there are as many different answers as there are people living in North Carolina.
I’d like to share my thoughts in regards to Luella’s preparedness to try and win this darn game, the longest ball game of our life. Kindly indulge me in the baseball metaphor. I’ve missed watching the North Asheville Little Leaguers at Weaver Park and the big league northsiders at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
As we enter Phase 2 our game plan will not change. For this situation, we believe the best offense is playing sound defense.
Therefore, the dining rooms and patios remain closed for the time being. Luella’s North will continue serving in our current Curbside Take-out and Delivery model because we feel it reduces risks associated with the virus.
Our South Asheville store will remain closed while we examine Phase 2’s effect on the community and prepare accordingly. It’s a difficult decision, however it is what we need to do right now.
Trust that we are working diligently to recreate our restaurants inside the four walls to accommodate you safely, when the time is right. Ashley and I want to see your faces covered (in wing sauce and banana pudding) sooner than anyone you know.
Until then, we’ll see you in the lot!
With Gratitude,
Jeff Miller
